Russian Food in Knightsbridge

We celebrated Lucy's birthday at Borshtch N'tears. Interesting food and good vodka. I liked the candles on the tables, the atmosphere and definitely the Borshtch was very nice. George and Lucy took care of selecting the courses and got Juan drunk. Carlos managed to get a great chocolate cake with little piggy candles and then we sung happy birthday, Russian style.

Kiting in Richmond Park

We tried some Kiting a couple of weeks ago and it was definitely something to try. Here some of the pictures.

The 4 lines kite experience was very good, now we just need a little practice and then go with the board. It was also our first time in Richmond Park, we had some company from some of the park tenants during our lessons. If you want to give it a ry, call Mark at Kitevibe here in London.

Comedy Store, Cannizaro Park Festival

Last night Adri and I went to the Cannizaro Park Festival for a Comedy show with Mel and Duncan. This time we saw Improvisational Comedy, which is different to the comedy I was used to, but it was really fun indeed. It was also pretty easy to understand for us, even though English is not our first language.
From Wiki:
Improvisational theatre (also known as improv or impro) is a form of theatre in which the actors use improvisational acting techniques to perform spontaneously. Actors typically use audience suggestions to guide the performance as they create dialogue, setting, and plot extemporaneously.
Modern improvisational comedy, as it is practiced in the West, falls generally into two categories: shortform and longform.
Shortform improv consists of short scenes usually constructed from a predetermined game, structure, or idea and driven by an audience suggestion. Many shortform games were first created by Viola Spolin. The shortform improv comedy television series Whose Line Is It Anyway? has familiarized American and British viewers with shortform.
Before the show, we had some time for a glass of bubbly, Mel’s special peppers and a relax talk in the gardens, a perfect summer evening.

WALL-E

The new Pixar movie is really good, funny and very nice. WALL-E (Waste Allocation Load Lifter Earth-Class)and EVE (Extra-terrestrial Vegetation Evaluator) are the new "Lady and the Tramp" with a moderm environmentalist message. And don't miss the short Presto and his rabbit, they are hilarious; so don’t be late. Check the WALL-E web page

Back again with Wimbledon 2008

A year without posting…that’s probably too much; anyway I start to relax and a time management course. Hopefully I’ll post a few lines at least once every week or two.
Since the pile of photos keeps growing plus I rescued my old pictures from my home town, including some of the classics from “USB and Mamarrachos Asociados” (long story) , I think is time to get serious and start writing again… and posting.

First post….Wimbledon 2008
I spent the first week out of town, so I missed the first trip with the guys; however, Saturday morning up I went, without a ticket and a case full of wine to a picnic (long queue in one of the fields) with Mel, Duncan and Adri…. I have never queued for that long in my whole life. Seven hours it took us(and almost the full case of wine) but we made it … and then (another queue) to Court 1. At least it was a good Gentlemen's Doubles match: Max Mirnyi and Jamie Murray (with his John McEnroe’s look) against James Cerretani and Victor Hanescu. Excellent match and we still had the last bottle of bubbly . Nadal was playing in Central Court that day but we couldn’t get in. A few glimpses to the Ladies’ doubles, not much and then back home, late and ready to go to bed… I was so tired, we even missed a champagne party in Victoria, oh well, next time, it was a good day.
Next year I’m getting my tickets in advance for Central Court, no more queuing.
