Since the pile of photos keeps growing plus I rescued my old pictures from my home town, including some of the classics from “USB and Mamarrachos Asociados” (long story) , I think is time to get serious and start writing again… and posting.
First post….Wimbledon 2008I spent the first week out of town, so I missed the first trip with the guys; however, Saturday morning up I went, without a ticket and a case full of wine to a picnic (long queue in one of the fields) with Mel, Duncan and Adri…. I have never queued for that long in my whole life. Seven hours it took us(and almost the full case of wine) but we made it … and then (another queue) to Court 1. At least it was a good Gentlemen's Doubles match: Max Mirnyi and Jamie Murray (with his John McEnroe’s look) against James Cerretani and Victor Hanescu. Excellent match and we still had the last bottle of bubbly . Nadal was playing in Central Court that day but we couldn’t get in. A few glimpses to the Ladies’ doubles, not much and then back home, late and ready to go to bed… I was so tired, we even missed a champagne party in Victoria, oh well, next time, it was a good day.
Next year I’m getting my tickets in advance for Central Court, no more queuing.
